Pictures from Astrid-2
Olle Norberg
(then) at the Swedish institute of Space Physics in Kiruna writes:
"Below you will find data from one of the PIA spin-scanning photometers
on Astrid-2. This data is from one of the very first data taking sessions
with PIA. The bottom part of the image was acquired first and the top part
last (remember PIA are spin-scanning, building up a picture as the satellite
moves forward). Approximately at 12:46 UT the satellite entered eclipse,
this time is visible as a decrease in the background counts present at
latitudes higher than about 80 degrees.

Because
of the rotation of the satellite the stars appear as small circle segments.
The Earth's horizon is also motion-blurred
